Turning Torso



Here is the tallest residential building of Europe. But, it did not hit the headline just for being the tallest building but for its going eco friendly by using energy efficient technology to light it up. Yes, it has used more than 16,000 white LEDs, creating an innovative LED lighting system.



‘Turning Torso’, the new residential tower in Malmö, Sweden, reveals the state-of-the-art solution to modern lighting. This is not only a stylish lighting arrangement, but also a cost-effective one.



Looking like an oversized model of a DNA strand, this €175 million futuristic building is designed by world renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. The most amazing and interesting part of the technology is that when a resident heads to an apartment on the upper floors, an automatic lighting greets him. It is triggered by motion sensors, which is based on a proprietary Osram system for LEDs.
