Wind turbines have just got a makeover thanks to French designer Philippe P. Starck with his new ‘Democratic Ecology’ personal wind turbine, recently unveiled at the Greenenergy Design show in Milan. Stylish looks aside, these things provide 20% to 60% of home energy needs. The turbine is priced at €400 (roughly $600) and you’ll probably need more than one to support your entire household, but this nifty gadget seems well worth it. With conventional power sources drying up and energy getting pricier, this just might be the next step in providing cleaner energy for our homes.
