homes-in-britain_9Britain plans to go green in just a decade! To help reduce greenhouse gas emission, and tackle global warming the country plans to make all new “zero carbon” homes. It will all happen from 2016! The green new homes will be generating power from renewable or low carbon sources, at least as much electricity as they would require to consume. Local government secretary Ruth Kelly informed of this to a news conference.

One quarter of Britain’s greenhouse gases are produced by homes, which produce some 40 million tonnes of carbon a year. This makes the houses, the third largest emitter of greenhouse gases after business and transport.
