
Canter Eco Hybrid light-duty truck hits the Japan roadways. The seller of the eco-friendly truck, Mitsubishi Fuso — part of DaimlerChrysler’s Truck Group — claims it to be the world’s cleanest light-duty truck.
This truck is claimed to release 41% less nitrogen oxide, consuming 20% less fuel compared to the conventionally-powered ones. This hybrid diesel-electric truck ’switches its operational mode according to the driving situation, according to the company. By the end of 2006, the company hopes to sell several hundred of the vehicle in Japan. It has till now no firm plans for selling it on other markets.
