Among all the environmentally hazardous materials in the world, cement is somewhere in the top among the most destructive. Compared to even the entire weight of the global airline industry, cement adds more carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.
The oil industry produces a viable alternative to cement. C-Fix is another efficient alternative. Referred to as carbon concrete, it is a ‘thermoplastic’. Shell and the University of Delft have developed this heavy-duty binder. This concrete has been successfully used in two busiest roads of Netherlands.
It replaces 90% of concrete and asphalt applications – the toxic elements of the atmosphere. Using just a ton of carbon concrete can save three-and-a-half tons of carbon dioxide! The environmental benefits from it are just huge.

Comments
It doesn’t surprise me in the least that it is the Netherlands that have actually used this product - they are often well ahead of the debate. Just look at how many people cycle and don’t own cars.....
