Where do all the hair trimmings at barbershops and beauty salons go? Most often they are swept up and discarded off, just to add to the ever-soaring landfills. But a former London hairdresser, Ronald Thompson, now researching at London South Bank University, made a better use of it. He has made a chair out the excess hair cuttings! Yes, a chair.
The designers of this unique and amazing chair have molded the barbershops’ waste hair into a shape mixing them with a matrix. And to add to this recycling, this sustainable resource will always be available in free and in abundance ever!
According to Thompson, human hair can compete with products, such as medium-density fiberboard, fiberglass, polymers and aluminum because of its being versatile, waterproof, non-conductive, corrosion free, fire resistant nature. It also adds to the products toughness, strength, and durability.
