Eco Factor: Zero-emission concept yacht to be powered by solar energy and hydrogen.
Yachts are meant to be your home on the open waters, but this sea living dream mostly has an effect on the delicate marine environment. Eco-minded designer Adam Voorhees has come up with a green change – a yacht that is designed to run on renewable energy and makes use of sustainable techniques to lower its overall environmental impact.

Dubbed the Riparian Yacht, the hi-tech yacht is a moving landscape whose purpose is to create a proactive conversation between the user, the yacht and the environment around. The design facilitates a dynamic structure that has the ability to change according to the need and the conditions.

The intelligently transforming yacht carries systems that are able of performing a wide set of operations ranging from a change in the yacht’s aerodynamics to improve efficiency to the alignment of the skin to let in natural light or block it altogether.

The yacht comprises of a pool on the aft deck and the reflection pond on the perimeter of the Venture deck that blurs the difference between the body of the yacht and the open water. With self-sufficiency as the major concern, the Riparian Project involves the use of hydrogen fuel cells and photovoltaic cells that are embedded in the superstructure to generate all the energy needed for propulsion and onboard systems.
