Eco Factor: Xmas tree made from recycled HDDs.
The use of SATA hard drives and even flash disks in some systems has rendered traditional ATA hard drives useless, because the former offers more speed, energy-efficiency and a longer service time. But does this mean the old hard drives are to be thrown out of the house with all those memories of the past? A NZGames forum member knows exactly what is to be done with these old disks to pay respect to the technology of old times – build a Christmas tree out of them, provided you have 70 HDDs at your disposal and three weeks of holiday. The best part of the tree is that all the sections are still spinnable.
The Dark Side:
The tree surely is an extreme form of recycling, which can only be carried out by creative minds who have hundreds of spare computers and lots of time at their disposal.
