goats and pets go green

Now not just you, but your pets can go the green way too. Here are a few ways you can help do that.

1. Clean up after them

Cat owners should not clump clay litter at any cost. Clay is strip mined and sediment it leaves behind is also permeated with carcinogenic silica dust. This can coat your cat’s lungs. Also, the sodium bentonite which is the clumping agent can poison your cat through chronic ingestion. Eco-friendly cat litters can help avoid these problems. A happy cat is one that does not claw your face off. Also if you own a dog scoop up your doggie’s doogie in biodegradable bags.

2. Give them sustainable goods

Your furry friends can do some saving-the-planet action as well. There are plenty of fun toys made from recycled materials or sustainable fibers (without herbicides or pesticides) such as hemp. A hemp collar is a great accessory. You can even get your 4 legged friends beds made from organic cotton or even recycled PET bottles.

3. Use natural pet-care and cleaning products

Never use toxic-chemical-laced shampoos or cleansers. Instead use organic products to clean them.

4. Adopt from a shelter

Thousands of animals need adoption, instead of spending thousands on the so called breeds, adopt from a local shelter.

5. Spay or neuter your pet

There are already many animals out there that need care, don’t add to their woes. Instead, get your pets sprayed or neutered, this will also reduce their risks of other diseases.

6. Swap out the junk food

Most pet food, are low grade wastes made from poor quality pork and beef. Instead give your pets, natural and organic pet foods. Use meats that are raised in sustainable, humane ways without added drugs or hormones.
