Google after launching a few ‘green’ projects has planned to turn its headquarters in Mountain View, CA ‘green’. It will be installing solar panels becoming America’s largest solar electric installation on a single corporate site. According to solar power systems integrators EI Solutions, it will also be one of the largest such projects in the world.

An installation of 9,212 solar panels, with a total capacity of 1.6 megawatts — enough to supply 1,000 average California homes - will be built at the Googleplex, EI informed in a press release. The panels will be built by Sharp Electronics and placed on rooftops and parking lot tops throughout the campus of Google.

I got to say man, Google is yet another Yahoo, Amazon, Ebay. There is a high degree of probability that google and ebay will follow the same fate as ICGE and CMGI.
In any event, they are doing really well at this timeframe and more power to them.
