We have brought decorative green chandeliers to you earlier as well but this one seems to be really different.
An LED lamp with an integrated solar panel and even has its own plant terrarium. The very first thing worth notice about the lamp is its eye catching design which has plants hanging from the baseline. No, they are not there for only decor, they serve a much higher purpose.
The tropical indoor plants, in a process called metabolic breakdown can remove carbon and common toxins like benzene, formaldehyde and other poisonous compounds from the indoor air and improve the over all air quality of the room.
A mini ecosystem of sorts, it hangs near the window to collect sun’s energy. The photovoltaic awning energizes the 6 watt LED bulbs, which provides light equivalent to a normal 60 watt bulb. And it also nourishes the plants.
The light’s spectrum, initiates the plants’ chlorophyll which enables them to take in most of the chemical from home and office furnishings.

And no the plants won’t die without the sun. The battery will keep the plants hale and hearty at least for four days. Just program the inbuilt microprocessor and it will turn on the LED at specific times, enough to simulate a full day’s worth of sunlight.
The best part worth applaud is that the whole light is made of either recycled or recyclable products in most environmentally responsible manner. The components developed under fully transparent conditions in a fabrication facility; a work of art, the hand blown glass disc is made in a kiln powered by leftover methane gas from a landfill. Even the aluminum case covering photovoltaic cells are made from recyclable aluminum.
A carbon neutral system that makes its own energy with the help of the solar panels, it is a custom made product is available strictly as part of prescription. With only 50 units made till now, the green light is a prescription product, designed and developed by Dr. Natalie Jeremijenko of the xdesign Environmental Health Clinic at New York University it is to curb the environmental anxieties of the patients.
Just as all the good things don’t come cheap, this green light too comes with a heavy price tag. $6000 is the price you got to pay if you are really committed to know about the changing world of solar technologies at the same time being concerned about the indoor air quality and also want to save the pain of getting your roof done up with solar panels.
