Ever thought of a toilet without a flush? Yup, yucky thought for me. But some phenomenal minds (Yes, pun intended) have come up with a toilet that decomposes your waste, so that you don’t have to use a flush & it does it using the power of the wind. Well, power might be a big word here, but I need to make it look theatrical to put the product over, right? Wrong. I do not need to do anything & I’m surely not even buying this idea.
At the same time I do not wish to bury any thought without taking a listen, so let us see what this is all about. Evirolet Basic Plus Composting Toilet is a composting toilet (obviously) that decomposes your waste & uses a 4′ wind turbine to do that. I really do not know what happens after that, as the product does not describe itself in detail. But really, where is the wind coming from to drive that turbine? I’m not so sure if I want to keep my toilet in an open place with gusty winds.
I understand that people want to use this in places with no electricity or drainage facility, but really, this is not something I still like. I still say manage your grey water for your flushing purposes. The company defines its capacity as,
4 persons per day for vacation use and 2 persons per day for continuous use. (Based on 3 uses per person per day.)
What in this world is even a ‘vacation use’ of a toilet? I don’t claim to know all, so if someone would care to clarify on this ‘capacity’ terms, I would appreciate it. My wisdom is just too limited on this.
