Amid finding ways to make energy-efficient fuel, a new process to convert biomass to a mixed alcohol fuel has come to serve the consumers. This mixed alcohol fuel contains more energy compared to fuel ethanol. Thanks to Prof. Mark Holtzapple, a Texas A&M chemical engineering professor.
Applied in a passenger car, the StarRotor engine could provide efficiencies of 49-55%, which is about 2.5 to 3 times more efficient compared to the conventional gasoline counterpart. This energy-efficient innovative engine gives you a fuel economy of 75 to 100 mpg. Holtzapple claims.
