With the escalating fuel ‘ diesel and petrol ‘ prices, can you think of a vacation like traveling across the globe in your petrol-run car? Doesn’t it seem too expensive? But, a couple, too sporty with their purse and daring to their hearts, will set off from Britain this week on an attempt to drive around the world on fewer than 50 tanks of petrol.
Yeah, you read it right. To repeat, it’s a trip of 29,000-kilometre (18,000-mile) trip across 25 countries in fewer than 50 tanks of petrol! John Taylor and his wife Helen will leave in their new fuel-efficient Volkswagen Golf FSI on Tuesday. Once successful, the venture will set the first world fuel efficiency driving record for Guinness World Records. The journey is expected to take 71 days.

Has anything like this ever been tried before?
I know your saying it will set a first guiness world record, but has it ever been recorded who has driven the same route, and how much petrol they used?
