Pitzer College residence halls is being expanded, but with a better cause. It will be contributing hugely towards the environment by being energy-efficient and eco friendly itself. It is this week; seven new dormitories will be made following the U.S. Green Building Council standards.
According to the council, the construction projects are utilizing not only recycled materials, but also are incorporating native plants into the landscape’s surrounding. It is due to this project, the school is seeking a Gold certification for its residence halls! It is the second highest certification issued by the council. Completed in three phases, the construction will ready the first dorm by fall 2007.
