Planning a long boating cruise this winter? But, still want to remain environmentally-responsible? How is it possible, when boats are run by fuels that pollute water! Here is ‘The Loon’ to provide with you all the enjoyments, as well as let you stay eco-friendly. The Loon is a solar-electric pontoon boat. On overcast days, the boat’s eight 6-volt batteries will keep you clipping along all day at 5 knots (6 mph). At night, The Loon can be plugged into standard electrical outlets at local marinas to recharge its batteries. It’s that simple and trip-friendly. There is no cost of fuel for the 100-mile cruise. Brad Collins of The American Solar Energy Society said boating is well-suited to solar power.
