Who says eco-friendly cars cannot be fast? Axon Automotive, a firm based in Northamptonshire has come out with its first offering called the Axon Eco Car; which goes 100 miles per gallon and has a top speed of a quick 90Mph. This little two seater car was exhibited at the Sexy Green Car Show at the Eden Project in Cornwall. To keep things light, the Axon eco-car uses plenty of carbon fiber for its aerodynamic body which has been designed in a wind tunnel. Powering its wheels is a very light 500cc twin cylinder engine that pumps out 43 horses and 31 lb-ft of torque. This car has an innovative design that can also be converted into a pick up by lifting off the back end. As this car runs on conventional gasoline and produces just 70 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer, the costs are kept sufficiently low. Talking about the cost, you can order one of these for £10,300, but you need to wait until 2010 to take delivery. Apart from this long waiting period, this car looks like a very able city scratcher due to its small size and nippy performance.

This is pretty cool! It got all the features a car enthusiast is looking for. And cheaper too compared to other enviro-cars. Wish all the parts are safe end effective like the engines, radiators and all the wirings. Maybe this would be the least enviro-car model that I’ll be looking forward to the future.
