EcoFactor: Solar powered lights.
Here’s an interesting renewable design by Damian O’Sullivan called the Solar Lampion. It is nothing like your typical solar powered lamp, as these are indoor lights unlike the other widely available ones on the market. The lamp has 36 solar cells and each of them is connected to an LED bulb structured into a peculiar pineapple-like shape. Hang it outside or somewhere where the sun’s rays are effective and the rest is taken care of by the built-in photovoltaic panels.
The Dark Side:
These lights have been designed for indoor use, but bringing them out in the sun for charging when the batteries die out seems to be a problem.

It looks almost like oil lanterns that are still used in rural parts of India. And I don’t think putting it out in sunlight for charging should be much of a problem. In fact I am happy to see solar power used for indoor lighting.
