Look at this car. This tiny one is no child’s toy car. It is designed to avoid the increasing traffic congestions in cities. Demonstrated at the University of Bath, this little, cute three-wheeled car does not seem only to help solve traffic problems but also the environment it travels through. Yes, it is less polluting compared to normal vehicles.
The prototype Clever can pick up to a top speed of 100 km/h (60mph)! To make it safe and manoeuvrable, it uses a novel tilting chassis. This Compact Low Emission Vehicle for Urban Transport is a two-seater, and took 40-month for its birth. Thanks to the researchers in all the nine European countries who worked to place it in the market. .
The research project was aimed to produce a totally different class of private motor vehicle, designed to help adapt and relieve the urban environment. The three-year project costs £1.5m.
