Here is another self-powering tree house. But, unlike the solar or wind-power generating ones, it comes with ‘undulating kinetic baffles’ which amazingly generate (apparently) electric power from the movement of the house in the wind! Yes, the house moves in the wind.

Lightweight and recyclable materials are used in constructing the house, which makes it environment-friendly again. This organic approach to country living was conceived by the U.K company Sybarite.

The kinetic baffles will oscillate in the wind and in the process will charge a series of batteries. The batteries can be used for supplying power to the home. The battery-power is further enhanced by power from P.V. cells. The solar-cells surround the perimeter of the dwelling roof.

Hmm... Not sure if I’m ready for the tree life yet :). But the houses are certainly interesting. I like the idea to of the kinetic baffles. More innovation like this is needed to help stop global warming.
